MAD camping trip to Buttyland in Tenby is tomorrow! 2 nights of pure MADNESS. Im sure everyone who is coming along are as excited as we are.

Believe it or not (I cant!) we have finished the Thriller dance! I am truly amazed by everyone's dedication and pure hard work.

Remember no rehearsal this Sunday, but Thriller dances will be in the club on Wednesday and all cast in the school on Sunday.

Congratualtions to Kaysha Wilson our very own Ugly Sister Maxie for getting into the final of Caerphillys Got Talent! You go girl!!

Take care

16/8/10

Hope everyone had a nice relaxing week off this Sunday and are ready to get back to it this week!

Our Thriller dancers have been chosen, and we are very excited to start the rehearsals for this. Judging by the standard of dancers and the amount of hard work everyone put into the auditions for Thriller on Wednesday, this dance is going to be amazing. As I have already said (and the people who auditioned have first hand knowledge of!) it is an extremly difficult dance, which not only will push the cast, but has also pushed myself, Ceri and Louise as choreographers and teachers, but as we at MAD always say, why be amateur when you can be professional!  It will require a lot of practice, hard work and dedication from all those chosen.  However, I have every confidence in all involved that you will put in 100% and the audience will be amazed and in awe of the dance.

Remember - scripts down, songs learned and all dances learned (apart from Thriller, but who knows, the way you guys learn things I wouldnt be suprised if it is!) by the end of August.

Keep selling those tickets. They are going very well at the moment, and we dont want anyone wanting tickets and being disapointed if they are all sold out.

Keep the faith and see you all either Wednesday or Sunday.

Lots of love

Sian

Part of my job as director is to co-ordinate the technical side of things to enhance a show that already has great talent and a great script. This side of things puts the finishing sheen on an already strong performance and gives the audience that extra dimension to the show. As far as the technical side of things go, progress has been made in every aspect of this show.  Lasers have been bought, pyrotechnics, smoke, lights, sound, scenery and rigging has been hired. The audience will certainly get their money's worth!  Sian and I went to see our costume suppliers on Saturday and we are optimistic that we will get some great costumes and service for a respectable price.

Todays rehearsal saw us perform Act Two and it was great to see things slot in place, particularly the dancing.  It was really great to see the principals work their magic with a lot of the cast perfoming without scripts!

The "Hello" dance with it's new introduction is the cleverest show opener i've ever seen.  Our cameramen will never be able to capture it all on DVD night and the audience won't be able to comprehend the scale of the routine!

I would urge cast members to soak in every single moment of this process.
This is going to be one of those shows that we will all pine for when it's all over.

Love,

20/6/10

The Alton Towers trip has now been booked!
If you are coming, but have not paid for your ticket in advance, please ensure that you bring this money with you and we will provide the "buy one get one free" vouchers.

Today's rehearsal saw another complicated dance completed and so you can imagine how happy we are with the progress made in such a short space of time! You have all performed way above amateur level now and are really pushing the boundaries of the professionals.

I have acted and directed with many societies, but none have been as talented and as committed as you guys!  Fact.

Next week we shall start integrating the songs into the show and will be starting a new routine, but as usual we expect you guys to learn it by the end of the rehearsal!

The principals made further progress with the (more complicated) first act. Again, the acting is first class and the timing almost perfect.  In all honesty, it's almost ready to take to the stage now as many of you know most of your lines already and have really embraced and understood the truth of your character.
However, as always at M.A.D we intend to work hard early on so that you can enjoy it later!

Very well done everyone, keep the faith and I'll see you Sunday at the club!

Love,

We are astounded by the pace our rehearsal's are moving along! Only 4th rehearsal in and we have already nailed 2 dances and started another today.  You are all so amazing, that we are finding it hard to keep up with everyone, but Ceri, Louise and I are in the process of choreographing another dance to start in the next rehearsal.

We would like to thank everyone for their commitment and sheer hard work in  learning all the dances that have been given to you so far. We will be filming them this week to put in the members area, so keep your eye out for these.

Was so good to see what the principal characters have been up to downstairs. The script is really coming to life, everyone has found their characters and the preview you gave the supporting cast today was so funny, if I was in the audience I would be roaring with laughter!

Cast have also been given the songs they will be performing in the show, so keep practicing your songs and in the next few weeks, we will be slotting them into the script.

All the cast seem to be having such a great time, and we love seeing the sparkle in everyone's eyes and big smiles on your faces.

Keep up the good work guys, and as always, keep the faith!

Lots of love

23/5/10

Today was our first full rehearsal with the principals and supporting cast.  We opened with a general introduction of the MAD group's personnel, rules and expectations for the forthcoming production.  It was also an ideal opportunity to welcome the 8 new cast members to MAD!

We then split up into two groups, the dancers and principals.  I worked with the principal cast downstairs where we read through the script, making changes and began blocking the script.
Sian lead the dancers with Ceri and Louise upstairs and began working on one of the main dances in the pantomime.

Two and a half hours later, there were smiles all round from both groups.  The actors had already made an incredible start with the script and the dance was pretty much done.  Yet again, I am truly amazed by the commitment of our members.
Our amazing audience are in for a massive treat with this production.

If you thought we couldn't top A Night At The Musicals - think again.

See you all this Sunday at the club!
